At 14:40 on Saturday, 21 January, 2017, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Skip Fire in Newport.

1 fire appliance was mobilised from Newport.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

• Breathing Apparatus (BA)
• Hosereel jet
• Thermal imaging camera

Fire involving waste carpet and cardboard within one commercial metal skip.
