At 15:56 on Sunday, 14 May, 2017, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting an incident classified as Animal Rescue.

1 fire appliance including the Rescue Tender was mobilised from Wellington.

Also at the scene of the incident were: a vet.

Horse trapped in wire by feet released by Fire Service using wire cutters.
