At 20:27 on Saturday, 27 May, 2017, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting that a Road Traffic Collision had taken place in Tong.

2 fire appliances including the Rescue Tender were mobilised from Wellington. An Operations officer was in attendance.

RTC involving 2 vehicles - crews used Holmatro cutting equipment to extricate 2 casualty's now in the care of ambulance service
