At 13:40 on Sunday, 23 July, 2017, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting an incident classified as Animal Rescue in Knighton.

1 fire appliance was mobilised from Clun.

Attending crews used the following equipment:

A Jack Russell cross dog called Freddie was stuck down a rabbit hole, firefighters used a 9m ladder and general purpose line to gain access to the steep embankment where they then used shovels and picks to enlarge the hole to allow access to release Freddie and return him safe and well to his owners
