At 11:11 on Friday, 8 September, 2017, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting an incident classified as Animal Rescue in Shrewsbury.

7 fire appliances including the Rescue Tender and the Water Rescue Unit were mobilised from Baschurch, Shrewsbury and Wellington. An Operations officer was in attendance.

One sheep rescued from the river by Fire Services Personnel in the boat and taken to safety.
