At 23:17 on Wednesday, 21 February, 2018, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting an incident classified as Animal Rescue in Newport.

4 fire appliances including the Incident Support Unit and the Rescue Tender were mobilised from Newport and Wellington. An Operations officer was in attendance.

Also at the scene of the incident were: the Police and a vet.

Incident involves one horse stranded in brook which has been rescued by Fire Service Personnel including the Specialist Animal Rescue Team.
