At 13:04 on Wednesday, 11 July, 2018, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting an incident classified as Animal Rescue.

2 fire appliances including the Rescue Tender were mobilised from Wellington.

A request was received from Shropshire Animal Health Team to assist in locating a lamb which had become trapped in a 17 inch drainage pipe which measured approximately 100 metres. Crews located lamb between 2 points in the drainage pipe and responsibility was passed to owner who was proceeding to use farm machinery to dig out lamb.
