At 10:35 on Friday, 27 July, 2018, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Fire In Open in Hopton Wafers.

2 fire appliances including the Incident Support Unit were mobilised from Cleobury Mortimer and Ludlow.

This incident was a false alarm cause by a controlled burn, advice given

Build bonfires well clear of buildings and never use flammable liquids to start the fire. Before you light the bonfire, check that children and animals are not hiding inside and are a safe distance away. Don't leave bonfires unattended. Don't light bonfires in unsuitable weather conditions.
