At 13:59 on Monday, 6 August, 2018, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting an incident classified as Animal Rescue in Alberbury.

4 fire appliances including the Rescue Tender and the Water Rescue Unit were mobilised from Shrewsbury. An Operations officer was in attendance.

Attending crews used the following equipment:

4 cows rescued from the river Severn by using safety lines and a rigid inflatable boat.
