At 14:33 on Saturday, 13 October, 2018, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting an incident classified as Animal Rescue.

2 fire appliances including the Incident Support Unit were mobilised from Wellington.

Attending crews used the following equipment:

Reports of young deer stuck in wire fencing. Crews released deer using small gear.
