At 12:51 on Wednesday, 21 November, 2018, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting an incident classified as Animal Rescue.

4 fire appliances including the Rescue Tender and the Water Rescue Unit were mobilised from Newport, Shrewsbury and Wellington. An Operations officer was in attendance.

This incident involved a horse in the river which was rescued by Fire & Rescue personnel using specialist animal rescue equipment.
