At 03:49 on Monday, 12 October, 2020, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Car Fire in Newport.

1 fire appliance was mobilised from Newport.

Van fire - this was a false alarm caused by an engine compartment failure, however there was quantity of oil and diesel which crews have assisted in clearing to make the scene safe.
