Community fire safety officers will be at Oswestry Fire Station, Mount Road, Oswestry, on Friday 2nd March.
People need to book their appointment by first calling Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service on 01743 260 260 between Monday 20th February and Friday 24th February during office hours.
If you are unable to bring your blanket along to be tested, here are some useful safety tips:
- Never buy or use a second hand blanket.
- Do not use with a hot water bottle.
- Check regularly for scorch marks or visual signs of damage.
- Always read and follow the manufacturer’s instructions.
- More importantly, make sure you have working smoke alarms on each level of your home.
