At 10:37 on Saturday, 1 July, 2023, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting an incident classified as Aircraft Microlight in Midland Gliding Club, Longmynd, Church Stretton.

5 fire appliances were mobilised from Bishops Castle, Church Stretton, Craven Arms and Wellington.

2 persons trapped in glider which crash landed on airfield. Remscat saw and small gear used by fire crew to release casualty. Ambulance in attendance.
