At 16:36 on Tuesday, 1 March, 2016, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting an incident classified as Hazardous Substances in Oswestry.

4 fire appliances including the Environmental Protection Unit and the Incident Support Unit were mobilised from Oswestry, Prees, Tweedale and Whitchurch. Operations and Hazmat officers were in attendance.

Attending crews used the following equipment:

• Breathing Apparatus (BA)

Also at the scene of the incident were: the Environment Agency, the Land Ambulance Service and the Police.

Investigations in progress of 4 barrels of an unknown substance. Liaison with Environment Agency to dispose of substance asap.
