At 07:22 on Sunday, 9 October, 2016, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting that a Road Traffic Collision had taken place in Oswestry.

4 fire appliances including the Rescue Tender were mobilised from Oswestry and Wellington. An Operations officer was in attendance.

Also at the scene of the incident were: the Air Ambulance, the Land Ambulance Service and the Police.

RTC involving 2 saloon vehicles, 2 casualties & 1 dog trapped, crews currently using holmatro to release casualties. A5 has been closed in both directions whilst emergency services work on scene. 08:17 - 1 male released from estate car and now being looked after by Air Ambulance crews. 1 female still trapped - attempts being made to extricate. 1 dog rescued from rear of car and now in the custody of the police.
