Firefighters wearing special gas-tight suits and using breathing apparatus “rescued” three students from Wrekin College in Wellington on Monday (Aug 10) following a gas and chemical leak.

This year’s Cultural Diversity Day event is being held in The Square, Shrewsbury on the 25 July 2013. The event will commence at 12 Noon through to 4:30 pm.

Private landlords will have to fit working smoke and carbon monoxide alarms in their properties following a change in the law due to be introduced in October.
The new regulations will require landlords to install smoke alarms on every floor of their property and test them at the start of every tenancy. They will also need to install carbon monoxide alarms in any habitable rooms where a solid fuel heating system is installed.
