Every year fire is responsible for the destruction of thousands of acres of countryside, open spaces and wildlife habitat.

Shropshire fire chiefs have something to sing about – and it’s all about fire safety this Christmas. Chief Fire Officer John Redmond and Assistant Chief Fire Officer Louise McKenzie joined voices with Fire Authority member, Councillor Keith Roberts, to resonate the 12 tips for festive fire safety.

With the "university season" beginning for many, fire safety might not be too high on your list of priorities whilst you are studying and socialising; taking the time to read some fire safety tips below and they might just save your life though.
