At 20:04 on Thursday, 14 February, 2019, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting an incident classified as Water Rescue.

3 fire appliances including the Water Rescue Unit were mobilised from Bridgnorth and Shrewsbury. An Operations officer was in attendance.

Also at the scene of the incident were: the Police.

Request from West Mercia Police to assist with female threatening to jump in River Severn. Female did not enter the water and was in the hands of police prior to the arrival of Shropshire Fire Service

This incident involved a horse in the river which was rescued by Fire & Rescue personnel using specialist animal rescue equipment.
