Fire involving exhaust fan from furnace, out on arrival, crews cooling external area using 1 hose reel jet.

At 22:05 on Wednesday, 18 February, 2015, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Property Fire in Cleobury Mortimer.

2 fire appliances were mobilised from Cleobury Mortimer.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

  • Breathing Apparatus (BA)
  • Hosereel jet
  • Short extension ladder
  • Small gear

Small fire in kitchen area of first floor flat out on arrival, crews ventilating property

Smoke alarms cost as little as £5 and are available at most DIY stores. It is recommended that smoke alarms should be fitted on the ceiling one per floor and they should be 30cm away from walls or light fittings (Usually top and bottom of stairs). Smoke alarms should be tested weekly by pressing the button to briefly activate the alarm. Change the battery once a year (unless it's a ten year alarm) and gently vacuum the alarm twice a year to remove dust from the sensors.

5 fire appliances including the Rescue Tender were mobilised from Cleobury Mortimer and Wellington. An Operations officer was in attendance.

2 car RTC, 1 person trapped, released by fire service personnel and left in care of the Ambulance Service.

At 19:41 on Monday, 2 February, 2015, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Property Fire in Cleobury Mortimer.

6 fire appliances including the Aerial Ladder Platform were mobilised from Cleobury Mortimer, Ludlow and Telford Central. Operations and Fire Investigation officers were in attendance.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

  • Breathing Apparatus (BA)
  • Hosereel jet
  • Thermal imaging camera
  • Triple/Short extension ladder

Fire involving a 2 storey cottage, fire involving 2nd floor and roof space, fire extinguished using 2 hose reel jets and 2 breathing apparatus. Crews carrying out salvage and damping down. Assistance was given from Hereford and Worcester Fire Service.
