At 16:21 on Sunday, 3 July, 2022, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting an incident classified as Persons Trapped In Soft Ground in Newport .

3 fire appliances including the Rescue Tender were mobilised from Telford Central and Wellington. An Operations officer was in attendance.

Attending crews used the following equipment:

1 female stuck in a 4m trench with 1m of water up to waist unable to get out. Crews used a short extension ladder, throw lines and life jackets to assist female out of trench.
