At 14:28 on Wednesday, 31 August, 2022, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Fire In Open in Ruyton XI Towns.

1 fire appliance including the Incident Support Unit was mobilised from Baschurch and Oswestry. An Operations officer was in attendance.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

• Hosereel jet

This incident was caused by a controlled burn, crews damped down the area around the fire and gave advice to the responsible person
