Attending crews used the following equipment:

• Thermal imaging camera

This incident was a false alarm possibly due to build up of dust and insects in smoke detector head. System has now been reset with no further activation and full inspection of property carried out using a thermal imaging camera.

At 11:07 on Sunday, 21 July, 2024, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Tractor Fire in Shrewsbury.

2 fire appliances were mobilised from Oswestry. An Operations officer was in attendance.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

• Breathing Apparatus (BA)
• Environment agency equipment
• Hosereel jet
• Thermal imaging camera

1 tractor and several hay bails destroyed by fire. Crews use 2 hosreel jets to extinguish whilst wearing breathing apparatus. Environment Agency and Shropshire Highways notified due to hydraulic oil spill on highway. Environmental mats used on highway drains to clear oil.
