This incident was a small fire in a woodchip boiler room, crews used 1 hosereel jet, the thermal imaging camera and small tools to extinguish the fire.

At 14:15 on Tuesday, 13 January, 2026, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting that a Road Traffic Collision had taken place in Shrewsbury.

2 fire appliances were mobilised from Shrewsbury. An Operations officer was in attendance.

Crews used the following equipment to deal with the incident:

• Environment agency equipment
• Small gear

Also at the scene of the incident were: the Highways Agency, the Land Ambulance Service and the Police.

Road traffic collision involving two cars. The casualty trapped within the vehicle was able to self extricate. Crews made the vehicles electrically safe using small gear and assisted in clearing some debris from the road using an environmental grab pack. Both police and ambulance were in attendance and Highways was requested to clear oil and fuel from the carriageway.
