At 16:21 on Friday, 7 July, 2023, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Barn Fire in Ellesmere.

9 fire appliances including the Light Pumping Unit and the Rescue Tender were mobilised from Baschurch, Craven Arms, Ellesmere, Prees, Wellington, Wem and Whitchurch. Operations, Hazmat and Safety officers were in attendance.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

  • Breathing Apparatus (BA)
  • Hosereel jet
  • Main jet

Also at the scene of the incident were: the Land Ambulance Service .

Large barn 60m x 30m fire involving approx 20 tonnes of straw, hay and farm machinery.
