At 17:13 on Tuesday, 17 September, 2024, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Barn Fire in Church Stretton.
4 fire appliances including the Incident Command Unit, the Light Pumping Unit and the Water Carrier were mobilised from Church Stretton, Craven Arms and Shrewsbury. Operations, Hazmat and Safety officers were in attendance.
Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:
- Breathing Apparatus (BA)
- Covering jet
- Hosereel jet
- Main jet
Also at the scene of the incident were: the Land Ambulance Service and the Police.
Fire involving one barn, five cars, one tractor and one caravan. Crews used hose reel jets, one main jet, eight breathing apparatus to extinguish.

At 16:14 on Friday, 30 August, 2024, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Barn Fire in Shrewsbury.
5 fire appliances including the Incident Command Unit, the Incident Support Unit, the Light Pumping Unit and the Water Carrier were mobilised from Bridgnorth, Craven Arms, Ludlow, Minsterley, Oswestry and Shrewsbury. Operations and Safety officers were in attendance.
Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:
- Hosereel jet
- Main jet
Fire involving three separate barns including approx 500 tonnes of straw and hay. Crews used hosereel jets and main jets to extinguish the fire. Crews have carried out watching briefs to ensure no further spread of fire.

At 07:05 on Friday, 30 August, 2024, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Barn Fire in Much Wenlock.
6 fire appliances including the Light Pumping Unit and the Water Carrier were mobilised from Bridgnorth, Craven Arms, Much Wenlock and Telford Central. An Operations officer was in attendance.
Barn fire involving approximately 30 tonnes of straw well alight. Crews are using hosereel jets and 45mm jet whilst wearing breathing apparatus. Crews are using controlled burning and defensive fire fighting to tackle fire.

Reports of a barn on fire, on arrival it was found to be a controlled burn. Crews dampened down using 1 hose reel jet

Barn fire involving machinery and timber, crews extinguished using 4 breathing apparatus, 2 hose reel jets, a thermal imaging camera, 1 covering jet laid out and positive pressure ventilation

Request from Mid & West Wales for assistance with a large Barn fire. Oswestry water carrier mobilised. Crews were released from the fire ground and incident left with Mid & West Wales

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:
- Breathing Apparatus (BA)
- Hosereel jet
- Short extension ladder
- Small gear
Also at the scene of the incident were: the Police.
Derelict agricultural barn involved in fire. Crews used 2 hosereel jets to extinguish the fire whilst wearing breathing apparatus. Crews currently cutting away and damping down prior to leaving incident.
