4 fire appliances were mobilised from Bridgnorth and Cleobury Mortimer. An Operations officer was in attendance.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

• Ground monitor

This incident was a barn fire. Crews have extinguished the fire and are damping down.

At 16:51 on Thursday, 8 April, 2021, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Barn Fire in Market Drayton.

6 fire appliances including the Incident Command Unit, the Rescue Tender, the Water Carrier and the Welfare Unit were mobilised from Hodnet, Market Drayton, Newport, Telford and Wellington. Operations and Safety officers were in attendance.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

• Breathing Apparatus (BA)
• Hosereel jet
• Main jet

Barn fire involving straw and manitou machine. Fire crew used 3 hose reel jets, 6 breathing apparatus, 3 x 45mm jets and 3 improvised monitors.

7 fire appliances including the Light Pumping Unit and the Water Carrier were mobilised from Baschurch, Oswestry, Shrewsbury, Wellington and Wem. An Operations officer was in attendance.

• Hosereel jet
• Positive Pressure Ventilation

Fire involving large barn, approx. 50m x 80m, four breathing apparatus, three hose reel jets and positive pressure ventilation fans in use

Single storey outbuilding 100% involved in fire. Crews have now extinguished the fire and are now damping down.

Fire involving approximately 30 one tonne haybales in a concrete sided barn. Crews used 2 hose reel jets with assistance from farm machinery to extinguish.

Reports of a tractor on fire inside an agricultural building. This was a small fire involving the rear of the tractor and not affecting the building. Crews used 1 hose reel jet.
