At 13:07 on Tuesday, 8 April, 2025, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Fire In Open in Worthen.
6 fire appliances including the Incident Support Unit were mobilised from Bishops Castle, Church Stretton, Ludlow, Minsterley and Tweedale. An Operations officer was in attendance.
Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:
- Knapsacks
- Main jet
Fire involving 350 x 250 square meters of undergrowth on fire. Extinguished using hose reel jets and lances from incident support units. Crews also ferried water from nearby hydrants.
