At 11:05 on Wednesday, 6 August, 2025, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Field Of Straw in Minsterley.

3 fire appliances including the Incident Support Unit were mobilised from Bishops Castle and Minsterley. An Operations officer was in attendance.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

• Hosereel jet
• Thermal imaging camera

Fire involving 100m x 100m of grass and gorse in field. Crews extinguished using 2 hose reel jets and thermal imaging camera.
