At 16:22 on Wednesday, 6 August, 2025, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Fire In Open in Shrewsbury.

2 fire appliances including the Incident Support Unit were mobilised from Bishops Castle, Church Stretton, Ludlow, Minsterley, Shrewsbury and Tweedale. Operations and Safety officers were in attendance.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

• Beaters
• Hosereel jet

Fire involving approximately 80m x 50m of grass and hedgerow. Crews assisted by Mid & West Wales Fire Service.
