At 20:08 on Sunday, 15 July, 2018, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Barn Fire in Wellington.

8 fire appliances including the Light Pumping Unit and the Water Carrier were mobilised from Bridgnorth, Church Stretton, Hodnet, Much Wenlock, Shrewsbury, Telford and Wellington. Operations and Safety officers were in attendance.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

• Ground monitor
• Hosereel jet

Fire involving a large number of small hay bales within a barn.
