At 19:30 on Friday, 9 May, 2025, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Fire In Open in Bridgnorth.

4 fire appliances including the Incident Command Unit and the Incident Support Unit were mobilised from Bridgnorth, Telford Central and Wellington. Operations and Safety officers were in attendance.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

• Beaters
• Hosereel jet
• Knapsacks

Fire involving trees and undergrowth on hillside.

At 09:55 on Tuesday, 6 May, 2025, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Fire In Open in Shrewsbury.

1 fire appliance including the Incident Support Unit was mobilised from Minsterley and Shrewsbury.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

• Beaters
• Buckets of water
• Knapsacks

Also at the scene of the incident were: a utility company.

Incident involved one fallen power cable causing a fire within a woodland area. Crews used a lance from the Incident Support Unit buckets of water, knapsacks and beaters to contain and then extinguish the fire whilst National Grid investigated live cables. This incident has now been left with National Grid.

3 fire appliances including the Incident Support Unit were mobilised from Ellesmere and Oswestry. An Operations officer was in attendance.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

• Beaters
• Hosereel jet

Controlled burn which has spread to hillside measuring approximately 100 meters squared. Crews used two hosereel jets, extended hosereel, light fogging unit and beaters to extinguish.
