Fire officers are staging a major public exhibition on car crashes in Newport aimed at educating motorists in the wake of the large number of drivers being cut free from the wreckage of their vehicles on the roads of Shropshire.

A Christmas Safety Road Show was held at the Victoria Hall in Broseley on Friday 1st December. This is one of a series of Road Shows which is being held in the Bridgnorth District in the run up to Christmas.
These safety Road Shows are being organised by Bridgnorth District Community Safety Partnership working in partnership with Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service and The Community Council of Shropshire. They convey a Christmas Safety theme called "Celebrate Safely".

A Terrier has been rescued by Firefighters after spending four nights trapped beneath a neighbour's garden shed in Pulley Lane, Shrewsbury.
Freddie, an 18 month old Border Terrier, went missing last Friday whilst out walking in Bayston Hill with owners Martin and Andrea Parrish. They become concerned when he did not return with their other dog, Pikey and continued frantically searching for him throughout the weekend.

A tiny terrier was rescued by firefighters after becoming trapped and spending nearly 24 hours in a rabbit hole.
Minty went missing at 4pm on Tuesday whilst chasing rabbits in Neens Sollar, Cleobury Mortimer. Owner Angela Bettison returned home after spending hours looking for her pet and continued her search the next morning before calling the fire service at 11.50am.

A twenty year old woman was today carried to safety by firefighters from her burning flat in Craven Arms.
