On Saturday, 12 June 2010, Baschurch Fire Station personnel held a Community Open Day and invited the public, retired station personnel and former Brigade officers living locally to join them at this event, to also celebrate 25 years since the new station was built and opened.
Deputy Chief Fire Officer John Redmond and the Chair of the Fire Authority, Stuart West, both addressed the assembled visitors, with the Chair cutting the ribbon to mark the occasion.

Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service gathered on Monday 21st June at St. George’s Church, Pontesbury to mourn the death and celebrate the life of Mat Evans. The funeral service was led by Reverend Silvia Turner and Brigade Chaplain Reverend Peter Barnes.
Officers, Fire-fighters and staff joined with Mat’s family in paying tribute to a professional firefighter, loving father to Mollie, son, brother, and steadfast friend.

On Thursday 4 March 2010, Firefighters from Prees fire station held a presentation evening to hand over cheques to three charities after a successful fund raising event.
The station personnel held a charity bingo evening at Prees social club in December and raised the grand total of £1000.
Station personnel decided to divide the money three ways, with £400 going to the Midlands Air Ambulance, £300 to Hope House and £300 to the Fire Fighters charity.

On Friday 11 June, 7 Members of the Service started the first of 3 epic Challenges. To run / walk 20 miles, to canoe 24 miles, to cycle 18 miles.

Public sector workers and volunteers from across Shropshire have been praised for their help in reducing house fires in the county through a unique scheme developed with Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service.
Chief Fire Officer Paul Raymond praised a successful partnership in which home visitors and other community workers are trained to fill out home fire safety check lists which "flag up" vulnerable residents who are later visited by firefighters who fit smoke alarms where necessary more
A scheme to turn novice young drivers into advanced motorists in Shropshire in a bid to cut road deaths has proved a success, said the Chief Fire Officer, who is responsible for road safety for Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service.
Paul Raymond, who is President of the county branch of the Institute of Advanced Motorists, praised the innovative scheme which has seen 30 young drivers aged between 17 and 25 take up the offer for advanced driver tuition at county fire stations.
