Shropshire and Wrekin Fire and Rescue Authority have now approved the proposal of a 1.99 per cent increase in precepts to go Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service. This equates to a £2 per annum increase for Band D homes.

Over 100 million appliances in the UK are yet to be registered

Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service attended a serious fire at a commercial building in Newport yesterday (Wednesday 15 December). 

The Service was called to Tan Bank at 11pm and crews from Newport, Wellington and Telford attended. Six firefighters entered the property wearing breathing apparatus and used hose reel jets and main jets to tackle the blaze. It was essential the blaze was tackled quickly, as it was spreading throughout the property at speed and causing serious damage.  more
