This year's fire quiz organised by Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service is hotting up with four regional heats due to take place at 36 schools across Shropshire.
The county's 11-year-olds are brushing up their knowledge ready to answer a series of questions on a wide range of safety issues including how to stay safe with fire, water, on the roads and railways, how to deal with school bullies, facts on alcohol and tobacco, and what to do in an emergency.

An investigation has been launched by local Police and Fire Officers in Shrewsbury after a serious garage fire occurred during the early hours of Saturday morning.
Two fire appliances and an Incident Commander from Shrewsbury fought for two hours at the scene in Salters Lane, Coleham where they were faced with a blaze involving three single storey terraced garages and four vehicles, two of which were destroyed.

A pub's kitchen and roof space have been damaged by a blazing fire in Telford.
Two fire crews from Wellington and one from Telford were sent to The Church Wickets Pub in Dawley at 10.55am this morning to discover the kitchen extension in flames.
Fire-fighters wearing breathing apparatus tackled the fire for less than ninety minutes to bring the blaze under control.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation by the fire service.

A family were lucky to be alive today after being rescued from their burning home in Brookside, Telford.
A neighbour alerted the fire service of a house fire in the early hours of this morning and two fire crews from Telford and an Incident Commander from Shrewsbury were sent to the property. Shropshire firefighters prevented a potential gas explosion at a block of flats while carrying out a routine fire safety visit at a Much Wenlock home.
Brothers Sean and Mark Nicholas, both retained duty firefighters based in the market town, were luckily on a home visit when they spotted the gas leak.

A warden who rescued a 94-year-old Shrewsbury man from his smoke filled kitchen has been praised by fire officers for saving his life.
The fire service has now repeated its call for carers to be extra vigilant.
In the Shrewsbury incident an alarm alerted the woman who helped the elderly man, who is almost chairbound, out of the warden controlled flat in Abbey Foregate.
