At 08:44 on Tuesday, 28 May, 2024, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Property Fire in Shrewsbury.
2 fire appliances including the Foam Pod were mobilised from Church Stretton, Minsterley, Shrewsbury and Tweedale. An Operations officer was in attendance.
Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:
- Breathing Apparatus (BA)
- Hosereel jet
Also at the scene of the incident were: the Environment Agency.
Fire involving a scrap metal yard measuring approximately 40m by 10m. Crews used breathing apparatus, hose reel jets and foam jets to extinguish.

At 15:20 on Sunday, 27 December, 2020, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting an incident classified as Aircraft Light in Sleap, Harmer Hill.
2 fire appliances including the Foam Pod, the Incident Command Unit, the Incident Support Unit and the Rescue Tender were mobilised from Prees, Tweedale, Wellington, Wem and Whitchurch. Operations and Hazmat officers were in attendance.
Also at the scene of the incident were: the Land Ambulance Service and the Police.
Report of a light aircraft which would be landing at Sleap airfield without any landing gear. Aircraft landed safely prior to arrival of fire service.

Reports of skip on fire. Incident involved one large skip containing electrical goods for recycling. Foam, 6 breathing apparatus, thermal image camera and small gear in use.

6 fire appliances including the Environmental Protection Unit and the Foam Pod were mobilised from Shrewsbury, Tweedale and Wellington.
Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:
- Breathing Apparatus (BA)
- Hosereel jet
Also at the scene of the incident were: the Highways Agency and the Police.
This incident involved overheating brakes on a fuel tanker.

At 07:45 on Thursday, 6 September, 2018, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Tanker Fire.
9 fire appliances including the Environmental Protection Unit, the Foam Pod and the Incident Command Unit were mobilised from Albrighton, Bridgnorth, Church Stretton, Craven Arms, Much Wenlock and Tweedale. Operations and Hazmat officers were in attendance.
Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:
- Breathing Apparatus (BA)
- Hosereel jet
- Main jet
Also at the scene of the incident were: the Environment Agency, the Highways Agency and a utility company.
Incident involved one fuel tanker on fire. Eight appliancs, specialist crews and four officers attended the incident. Crews brought the fire under control using 3 hose reel jets, 1 main jet with foam and 4 breathing apparatus. Crews are currently cooling tanker down with 3 hose reel jets, 1 main jet and foam. All other necessary utility companies and services were informed of this incident.

Operations, Hazmat and Safety officers were in attendance.
Fire involving maintenance store 12x8m, 4 breathing apparatus, 2 hose reel jets and 1 covering jet in use. Fire now under control and appliances being scaled down.
