At 02:27 on Sunday, 10 May, 2015, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as House Fire in Shrewsbury.

2 fire appliances were mobilised from Shrewsbury. An Operations officer was in attendance.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

• Breathing Apparatus (BA)
• Covering jet
• Hosereel jet
• Thermal imaging camera

Fire involving basement area of a 2 storey terraced residential property, 4 breathing apparatus, 2 hose reel jets, 1 covering jet, high pressure fan, and thermal imaging camera in use. Fire investigation also carried out.

Barn Fire

At 12:06 on Tuesday, 5 May, 2015, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Barn Fire in Shrewsbury.

5 fire appliances including the Light Pumping Unit, the Rescue Tender and the Water Carrier were mobilised from Bridgnorth, Shrewsbury and Wellington. An Operations officer was in attendance.

Fire involving four bay barn with asbestos roof, containing approximately 40 tonnes of straw and one trailer of approximately 5 tonnes of straw fully involved in fire. An adjacent cattle building of 40m x 20m also suffered slight fire damage. A number of livestock were led away from buildings by fire service animal rescue technicians and an onsite responsible person. 1 main jet and breathing apparatus in use to extinguish fire.
