At 18:04 on Wednesday, 1 June, 2022, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Property Fire in Bridgnorth.

8 fire appliances including the Incident Command Unit and the Welfare Unit were mobilised from Bridgnorth, Much Wenlock, Newport, Shrewsbury, Telford Training and Tweedale. Operations, Safety and Principal officers were in attendance.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

  • Breathing Apparatus (BA)
  • Covering jet
  • Hosereel jet

approx 20 tonnes of waste paper in bay alight

At 22:07 on Monday, 21 February, 2022, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Car Fire in Telford.

2 fire appliances were mobilised from Telford Training and Tweedale. A Fire Investigation officer was in attendance.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

  • Breathing Apparatus (BA)
  • Hosereel jet

This incident involved 4 saloon vehicles which were extinguished by fire service personnel using a hosereel jet.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

  • Hosereel jet
  • Thermal imaging camera

This incident involved a waste refuse lorry with a fire in the rubbish section of the vehicle which was extinguish by fire service personnel on arrival.

Shropshire Fire and Rescue Services’ state-of-the-art Telford Station build underway

Work has begun on major improvements and renovation of Telford Central Fire Station at Stafford Park. The Service submitted its planning application in March 2020 and phase one of the build launched last month.

The new station is the main response location for the communities of Telford and is set to include joint facilities for operational and management training as well as multi-agency emergency command facilities.

1 fire appliance was mobilised from Telford Training.

Involving 1 forklift truck which was believed to be caused by paper dust in working parts. Fire crews used 1 hose reel jet and small tools to extinguish.

Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service are inviting local businesses to their Business Education Seminar on Thursday 24th June at 2pm.

Fire involved industrial waste paper bins and dust extractor. Fire crews used hose reel jets, 2 breathing apparatus and 2 fog mist lanterns to extinguish fire.
