Property Fire

Trewern Avenue Oswestry

At 18:02 on Saturday, 4 May, 2024, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Property Fire in Oswestry.

2 fire appliances were mobilised from Ellesmere and Oswestry. Operations and Fire Investigation officers were in attendance.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

• Breathing Apparatus (BA)
• Covering jet
• Hosereel jet
• Positive Pressure Ventilation
• Thermal imaging camera

Fire in kitchen of domestic property caused by tumble dryer. Crews used 2 hosereel jets and 1 covering jet whilst wearing breathing apparatus. 1 dog rescued from the property. Crews then ventilated the property using positive pressure ventilation and thermal imaging cameras to check temperatures within the property were safe.

Diesel generator in fire outside. Fire crews have used an extended hosereel jet whilst wearing breathing apparatus to deal with the fire and used small gear and a thermal imaging camera thereafter.
