At 16:23 on Saturday, 9 August, 2025, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Fire In Open in Whitchurch.

1 fire appliance was mobilised from Whitchurch.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

• Hosereel jet
• Thermal imaging camera

Approximately 5 meters of confier trees affected by fire. Crews extinguished the fire using a hose reel jet and then checked for hot spots with a thermal imaging camera.

Fire In Open

Hollins Lane Whitchurch

At 13:10 on Saturday, 9 August, 2025, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Fire In Open in Whitchurch .

3 fire appliances including the Incident Support Unit were mobilised from Hodnet, Wem and Whitchurch. An Operations officer was in attendance.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

• Electric Saws/Cutters
• Hosereel jet
• Thermal imaging camera

Fire involving approximately 100 meters of hedgerow caused by bonfire spreading. Crews have used four hose reel jets and fire fogging from the Incident Support Unit.

Property Fire

Moneybrook Way Shrewsbury

At 11:33 on Saturday, 9 August, 2025, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Property Fire in Shrewsbury.

2 fire appliances were mobilised from Shrewsbury and Wellington. An Operations officer was in attendance.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

• Positive Pressure Ventilation
• Thermal imaging camera

Small fire involving food and oven which was out on arrival. Crews investigated and checked for hot spots using a thermal imaging camera. Crews also used Positive Pressure Ventilation to assist in ventilating the property.

• Breathing Apparatus (BA)
• Hosereel jet
• Small gear
• Thermal imaging camera

One transit van 25% damaged by fire. Two breathing apparatus', two hose reel jets, thermal imagining camera and small tools in use. Crews made vehicle electrically safe.

3 fire appliances including the Light Pumping Unit and the Water Carrier were mobilised from Church Stretton, Craven Arms, Ludlow and Much Wenlock. An Operations officer was in attendance.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

• Hosereel jet
• Rakes, shovels, mathooks
• Short extension ladder
• Thermal imaging camera

Incident involved 1 biomass boiler and approx 60 x 1 tonne of square bales alight, affecting roof timbers.

1 fire appliance was mobilised from Church Stretton.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

• Hosereel jet
• Thermal imaging camera

This was reported as a heating oil tank on fire, on arrival of fire crews the fire was out. The oil tank was completely destroyed by fire, crews used 1 hosereel jet to dampen down the are and the thermal imaging camera was also in use.
