At 09:21 on Tuesday, 14 January, 2025, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Property Fire Persons Reported in Wolverhampton.

3 fire appliances were mobilised from Albrighton and Telford Central. Operations and Hazmat officers were in attendance.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

  • Breathing Apparatus (BA)
  • Hosereel jet
  • Main jet
  • Open water supply
  • Portable pump
  • Thermal imaging camera

Incident involving one electric vehicle, one shed and an office unit on fire. Fire has been extinguished using two hosreel jets, one main jet and one light portable pumping unit whilst crews were wearing breathing apparatus. Crews are continuing to damp down the affected areas and temperatures of the electric vehicle battery being monitored with a thermal imaging camera. Vehicle is being recovered by an electrical vehicle containment unit. All persons were accounted for and no casualties reported.

At 18:29 on Wednesday, 6 March, 2024, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Property Fire in Marton.

6 fire appliances including the Aerial Ladder Platform, the Incident Command Unit and the Water Carrier were mobilised from Bishops Castle, Clun, Minsterley, Oswestry, Shrewsbury and Telford. Operations, Safety and Principal officers were in attendance.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

  • Breathing Apparatus (BA)
  • Covering jet
  • Hosereel jet
  • Open water supply

One industrial storage unit measuring approximately 85 metres x 26 metres. Fire involving biomass boiler which had spread to building. 14 breathing apparatus, 6 main jets, 4 hose reel jets and light portable pump from open water source used to extinguish fire. Assistance also received from Mid and West Wales Fire Service.

At 18:19 on Wednesday, 10 May, 2023, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Fire in Bridgnorth.

2 fire appliances including the Incident Support Unit were mobilised from Bridgnorth and Cleobury Mortimer. An Operations officer was in attendance.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

  • Breathing Apparatus (BA)
  • Main jet
  • Open water supply
  • Portable pump

Incident involved two log cabins involved in fire. Crews used two 45 millimeter jets, one 70 millimeter jet, two breathing apparatus, three light portable pumps being supplied water from local pool to extinguish.

4 fire appliances including the Light Pumping Unit were mobilised from Hodnet, Market Drayton and Shrewsbury. An Operations officer was in attendance.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

  • Covering jet
  • Hosereel jet
  • Open water supply

Single storey outbuilding 100% involved in fire. Crews have now extinguished the fire and are now damping down.

2 fire appliances including the Incident Support Unit were mobilised from Market Drayton.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

  • Hosereel jet
  • Open water supply

Fire involving large quantity of rubbish which has spread to three large trees and hedgerow nearby, crews are using two hose reel jets and one high pressure lance, with two breathing apparatus for comfort and water supplemented from a light portable pump in a nearby water source

6 fire appliances including the Light Pumping Unit and the Water Carrier were mobilised from Baschurch, Bridgnorth, Ellesmere, Oswestry and Shrewsbury.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

  • Covering jet
  • Hosereel jet
  • Open water supply

Fire involving a range of agricultural buildings approx 40m x 40m x 10m. 3 hose reel jets and 1 covering jet in use to extinguish the fire.

At 23:29 on Tuesday, 18 December, 2018, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Barn Fire in Oswestry.

3 fire appliances including the Light Pumping Unit and the Water Carrier were mobilised from Baschurch, Ellesmere, Oswestry and Shrewsbury. An Operations officer was in attendance.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

  • Hosereel jet
  • Main jet
  • Open water supply
  • Thermal imaging camera

Also at the scene of the incident were: the British Red Cross Fire and Emergency Support Service (FESS) .

Fire involving one agricultural barn containing a large quantity of straw, and agricultural machinery, measuring approximately 20 metres x 10 metres. Crews are dealing with the fire using 45mm hoses, and water curtains which are protecting adjacent properties. Local residents are advised to keep doors and windows closed at this time due to large amounts of smoke from the incident.

At 00:19 on Friday, 9 November, 2018, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Barn Fire.

5 fire appliances including the Heavy Pumping Unit and the Water Carrier were mobilised from Church Stretton, Craven Arms, Much Wenlock and Oswestry. An Operations officer was in attendance.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

  • Covering jet
  • Hosereel jet
  • Main jet
  • Open water supply

Also at the scene of the incident were: the Police.

Fire involving one four bay agricultural barn containing approximately 100 tonnes of straw fully involved in fire. Crews using hose reel jets, and main jets to extinguish the fire, as well as protecting surrounding buildings.

At 03:25 on Saturday, 5 November, 2016, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Barn Fire in Nr. Telford.

7 fire appliances including the Incident Command Unit, the Light Pumping Unit and the Water Carrier were mobilised from Bridgnorth, Cleobury Mortimer, Ellesmere, Hodnet, Much Wenlock, Oswestry, Prees, Shrewsbury, Wellington and Whitchurch. An Operations officer was in attendance.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

  • Breathing Apparatus (BA)
  • Main jet
  • Open water supply
  • Portable pump

Fire involving the contents on one barn containing farm machinery and timber which is well well alight. 4 main jets in use. This is a protracted incident with 4 crews in attendance. Crews using water supplied from local open water source and from hydrants. No further details at this time.

At 17:58 on Tuesday, 2 September, 2014, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Barn Fire in Cleobury Mortimer.

6 fire appliances including the Heavy Pumping Unit, the Incident Command Unit, the Water Carrier and the Welfare Unit were mobilised from Bridgnorth, Cleobury Mortimer, Craven Arms, Ludlow and Tweedale.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

  • Covering jet
  • Hosereel jet
  • Main jet
  • Open water supply
  • Strategically located water tanks

Barn fire

The stop message was received at Wed, 09/03/2014 - 03:32

SM Blizard said: "Crews attended a barn fire in Oreton, Cleobury Mortimer at 17:58 today. On arrival it was found to be a 6 bay open sided barn involving 400 tonnes of baled hay. Five fire engines including 2 from Hereford & Worcester and 3 from Shropshire, attended along with the water carrier from Bridgnorth, heavy pumping unit form Craven Arms, FAST safety team from Telford and 3 operational officers from Shrewsbury. Crews used 3 water curtain sprays, 2 main jets and 1 hose reel jet to protect surrounding buildings and nearby storage of hay bales, using water from a nearby hydrant and a 8500L dam from the water carrier. Crews are currently still in attendance monitoring this incident and protecting surrounding buildings. SM Blizard who was the officer in charge predicts that crews will be on scene for the next 24 hours. Police and Fire are investigating the cause of the fire."
