Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service has issued safety advice for a summer of fun and to prevent the annual increase in fires during school holidays.
To keep safe especially during this season’s heatwave, prevention staff have given out a summer fire safety list.
They are urging people not to light bonfires during the “tinder dry” conditions and to be “extra vigilant” to prevent outdoor fires.

Firefighters will demonstrate their skills at an action packed open day at Telford Central Fire Station tomorrow (Saturday).

Shropshire firefighters have joined fire and rescue services from across the country to fight the “extraordinary” moorland fires in the north west as part of the UKs national resilience efforts.

Firefighters went to the rescue of a falcon trapped on a rockface in a high rise drama in Bridgnorth.
