At 20:00 on Monday, 5 July, 2021, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Barn Fire in Market Drayton.

6 fire appliances including the Aerial Ladder Platform, the Fuel Bowser, the Incident Command Unit and the Water Carrier were mobilised from Hodnet, Market Drayton, Shrewsbury, Wellington and Whitchurch. Operations and Safety officers were in attendance.

Fire Commercial

Edgebold Industrial Estate Edgebold, Hanwood

Station ground: Shrewsbury

At 16:16 on Monday, 21 May, 2018, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Fire Commercial in Edgebold, Hanwood.

6 fire appliances including the Aerial Ladder Platform, the Fuel Bowser, the Incident Command Unit and the Welfare Unit were mobilised from Baschurch, Bridgnorth, Craven Arms, Hodnet, Minsterley, Newport, Shrewsbury, Telford, Telford Central, Tweedale, Wellington and Wem. Operations, Safety and Principal officers were in attendance.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

• Hosereel jet
• Rakes, shovels, mathooks
• Thermal imaging camera

Also at the scene of the incident were: the Land Ambulance Service and the Police.

Large fire in industrial unit at Edgebold Industrial estate. Six pumps in attendance in addition to a number of supporting pumps and officers. Roads now reopened in the area.

At 01:45 on Thursday, 27 July, 2017, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Barn Fire.

5 fire appliances including the Fuel Bowser, the Light Pumping Unit and the Water Carrier were mobilised from Oswestry, Prees, Shrewsbury and Wem. An Operations officer was in attendance.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

• Covering jet

Fire involving barn containing 100 tons of hay and straw, including 1 tractor and additional farm vehicle.

At 17:32 on Sunday, 4 December, 2016, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Property Fire in Bridgnorth.

5 fire appliances including the Aerial Ladder Platform and the Fuel Bowser were mobilised from Bridgnorth, Much Wenlock, Shrewsbury, Tweedale and Wellington. Operations and Fire Investigation officers were in attendance.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

• Breathing Apparatus (BA)
• Covering jet
• Hosereel jet
• Thermal imaging camera

Fire involving first floor and roof space of disused building. Two hose reel jets, four breathing apparatus and one covering jet used to extinguish fire. Aerial Ladder Platform used for removing roof tiles to check for hot spots with the thermal imaging camera.

Property Fire

At 00:09 on Saturday, 1 August, 2015, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Property Fire.

4 fire appliances including the Fuel Bowser, the Heavy Pumping Unit, the Incident Command Unit, the Light Pumping Unit and the Water Carrier were mobilised from Baschurch, Ellesmere, Oswestry and Shrewsbury. Operations and Hazmat officers were in attendance.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

• Breathing Apparatus (BA)
• Ground monitor
• Hosereel jet
• Main jet

Crews are presently dealing with a fire in a commercial building on Rednal Industrial Estate. Firefighters from Ellesmere, Baschurch, Oswestry, Shrewsbury and Tweedale have the situation under control and efforts to protect storage areas are being made. The building has been completely destroyed by the fire and a number of cylinders were believed to have been involved. Crews are likely to remain on scene for the next few hours damping down and making the area safe. Investigations into the cause are currently ongoing.

At 15:24 on Wednesday, 8 July, 2015, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Barn Fire in Bromfield near Ludlow .

9 fire appliances including the Fuel Bowser, the Heavy Pumping Unit, the Incident Command Unit, the Prime Mover and the Water Carrier were mobilised from Bridgnorth, Church Stretton, Cleobury Mortimer, Clun, Craven Arms, Ludlow, Shrewsbury and Tweedale. Operations, Hazmat and Safety officers were in attendance.

Fire involving agricultural building approximately 30m x 10m. 50 tonnes of hay fully involved in fire and 10 tonnes of nitrogen fertiliser partially involved in fire. 2 jets, 3 hose reel jets, 6 breathing apparatus in use.
