At 11:17 on Monday, 5 May, 2025, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Fire In Open in Oswestry.

3 fire appliances including the Incident Support Unit were mobilised from Ellesmere and Oswestry. An Operations officer was in attendance.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

• Beaters
• Hosereel jet

Controlled burn which has spread to hillside measuring approximately 100 meters squared. Crews used two hosereel jets, extended hosereel, light fogging unit and beaters to extinguish.

Also at the scene of the incident were: the Police.

RTC involving 1 car which had come to rest on its side in hedgerow, no persons trapped. Crews made vehicle electrically safe using small tools.

Road traffic collision involving 3 vehicles. One person released from vehicle by Fire Service Personnel. Crews were assisted by Mid & West Wales Fire Service.

Report of a fire coming from a barn with livestock inside. On arrival of crews, this was a false alarm due to a controlled burn. Advice given to occupiers.

• Breathing Apparatus (BA)
• Covering jet
• Hosereel jet
• Thermal imaging camera

House fire in bedroom of property. Fire crews isolated gas and electricity. Fire crews used 1 hose reel jet, 2 breathing apparatus, ventilation fan and one thermal image camera
