At 10:05 on Friday, 29 August, 2025, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Fire In Open in Shrewsbury.

1 fire appliance was mobilised from Shrewsbury.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

• Buckets of water
• Chimney rods
• Knapsacks
• Small gear
• Thermal imaging camera

Core of one large beech tree involved in fire. Crews used buckets of water, knapsacks, thermal imaging camera, chimney rods and small gear in use to extinguish.
