The Finance team supports Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service in managing its financial resources responsibly and effectively. We help ensure public money is managed carefully, supporting the delivery of our services while maintaining strong financial governance and accountability.
Our financial planning considers both the day-to-day cost of delivering our services and longer-term investment. Funding is managed through our annual budget and Medium-Term Financial Plan, helping the Service plan effectively for current and future financial needs.
The function also incorporates Procurement and Pensions, supporting the Service in achieving value for money, managing its commercial arrangements and meeting its responsibilities to employees.
Together, these areas help ensure that public money and resources are managed effectively, with appropriate governance and accountability, while supporting the delivery of sustainable services to our communities.
