Environmental information regulations

The Environmental Information Regulations (EIR) 2004 gives you the right to access recorded information held by the Service.  This covers information on the state of the environment with certain specified exceptions. Any applications will be dealt with in the same manner as requests made under the Freedom of  Information Act, verbal requests, however, are also acceptable.

There are number of legal exemptions that apply to the provision of information about the environment. If we do not provide you with the information that you are looking for, we will write to you explaining the reasons why.
