At 16:34 on Sunday, 27 August, 2017, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Fire In Open in Shifnal.

2 fire appliances including the Incident Support Unit were mobilised from Bridgnorth.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

• Hosereel jet
• Shovels/Forks/Brooms

Deep seated fire of undergrowth, trees and roots in wooded area, crews using fogging unit from 4x4 incident support unit and shovels to gain access and damp down
