At 21:16 on Saturday, 9 August, 2025, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Fire In Open in Telford.

2 fire appliances including the Incident Command Unit, the Incident Support Unit and the Water Carrier were mobilised from Baschurch, Bridgnorth, Newport, Telford Central and Tweedale. Operations, Principal and Specialist Advisor officers were in attendance.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

• Hosereel jet
• Main jet

Also at the scene of the incident were: Telford and Wrekin Council.

Fire involving an area of trees and undergrowth on the Wrekin measuring approximately 20 meters by 15 meters. Crews have extinguished the fire using hose reel jets and main jets supplied by water from the water bowser. Assistance provided by local farmer and landowners. Fire service drone used to assess affected areas and thermal imaging cameras used to monitor temperatures. West Midlands Search and Rescue team alongside Telford & Wrekin Council have been in attendance to alert the public to hazards.

At 16:23 on Saturday, 9 August, 2025, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Fire In Open in Whitchurch.

1 fire appliance was mobilised from Whitchurch.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

• Hosereel jet
• Thermal imaging camera

Approximately 5 meters of confier trees affected by fire. Crews extinguished the fire using a hose reel jet and then checked for hot spots with a thermal imaging camera.

3 fire appliances including the Incident Support Unit were mobilised from Hodnet, Wem and Whitchurch. An Operations officer was in attendance.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

• Electric Saws/Cutters
• Hosereel jet
• Thermal imaging camera

Fire involving approximately 100 meters of hedgerow caused by bonfire spreading. Crews have used four hose reel jets and fire fogging from the Incident Support Unit.

1 fire appliance was mobilised from Telford Central. A Fire Investigation officer was in attendance.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

• Breathing Apparatus (BA)
• Hosereel jet
• Small gear
• Thermal imaging camera

One transit van 25% damaged by fire. Two breathing apparatus', two hose reel jets, thermal imagining camera and small tools in use. Crews made vehicle electrically safe.

At 15:51 on Thursday, 7 August, 2025, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Barn Fire in Near Shrewsbury.

6 fire appliances including the Incident Command Unit, the Light Pumping Unit and the Water Carrier were mobilised from Bishops Castle, Bridgnorth, Church Stretton, Clun, Craven Arms, Minsterley and Shrewsbury. Operations and Safety officers were in attendance.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

• Breathing Apparatus (BA)
• Covering jet
• Hosereel jet

Two agricultural buildings alight. Crews wearing breathing apparatus have been using hose reel jets to extinguish the fire, and prevent fire spread to adjacent buildings.
