At 02:38 on Tuesday, 10 September, 2024, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Car Fire in Broseley.

2 fire appliances were mobilised from Much Wenlock and Telford Central. Operations and Fire Investigation officers were in attendance.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

• Breathing Apparatus (BA)
• Hosereel jet

Also at the scene of the incident were: the Police.

1 vehicle involved in fire with some spread to garage area of the property. Crews extinguished the fire using two hosereel jets whilst wearing breathing apparatus. No casualties were involved in this incident.

LGV Fire

Withcot, Ludlow

2 fire appliances including the Incident Support Unit were mobilised from Craven Arms and Ludlow. An Operations officer was in attendance.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

• Hosereel jet

Reports of a farm loader on fire. On arrival this was found to be smoke caused by an oil leak of hydraulic fluid. One hose reel jet used to cool machinery down.

This incident involved an unattended bonfire consisting of wood measuring approximately 2 meters squared which was extinguished by crews using a hosreel jet.

40ft oak tree 50% involved in fire. Crews extinguished the fire using a hosereel jet with assistance from North Wales Llangollen crews.

Barn Fire

Longnor Shrewsbury

At 16:14 on Friday, 30 August, 2024, SFRS Fire Control received a call reporting a fire classified as Barn Fire in Shrewsbury.

5 fire appliances including the Incident Command Unit, the Incident Support Unit, the Light Pumping Unit and the Water Carrier were mobilised from Bridgnorth, Craven Arms, Ludlow, Minsterley, Oswestry and Shrewsbury. Operations and Safety officers were in attendance.

Crews used the following equipment to tackle the fire:

• Hosereel jet
• Main jet

Fire involving three separate barns including approx 500 tonnes of straw and hay. Crews used hosereel jets and main jets to extinguish the fire. Crews have carried out watching briefs to ensure no further spread of fire.
